Since 2005, Ashtons has built a reputation as one of the largest, most innovative and well-known independent estate agents in the North West. From Warrington to Wigan, and St Helens to Stockton Heath, our teams operate across some of the region’s most desirable and sought-after locations.
Working collaboratively across all offices, our close-knit team delivers far more than traditional sales and lettings. We provide a comprehensive range of services including property management, refurbishment advice and regular, up-to-date feedback to ensure our clients remain fully informed throughout their property journey.
Founded by Steve, Kristian, Ben, and Sam, the family business opened its first office on Padgate Lane, Warrington. Named after their childhood home, “Ash Cottage,” the team grew the brand from zero properties by hand-delivering flyers night after night.
The business quickly scaled, opening a second office in Latchford (later relocating to Stockton Heath) followed by Great Sankey and Winwick. Ashtons became the first and only agency in several of these areas, establishing themselves as local market experts.
Ashtons led the local market by introducing laser-measured floorplans and professional DSLR photography. In 2009, they expanded outside Warrington, opening a major branch on Hardshaw Street in St. Helens to capture high town-center footfall.
Responding to landlord demand, the company launched its Lettings and Property Management division. This era also saw the team’s first appearance on BBC’s Homes Under the Hammer, with Managing Director Ben Price becoming a recurring contributor.
By 2012, the group had sold over £200 million in property. Growth continued with a new office in Culcheth and a high-profile branch in Ashton-in-Makerfield. To maintain quality during this growth, the “Ashtons Academy” was launched to provide in-house staff training.
The company launched Ashtons Financial Services (AFS) and became the No. 1 selling agent in their region. They continued to innovate by opening a Newton-le-Willows branch, their own Commerical Department and introducing “Ashtons Platinum,” a premium marketing package featuring drone photography and 3D tours.
Ashtons earned a spot in the Best Estate Agent Guide at the EA Masters. And it 2018 we opened our 8th office in Eccleston. Despite the 2020 lockdown, the business sold over 1,000 homes that year and subsequently launched a dedicated Land and New Homes division in 2021 to meet housing demand.
The group expanded to 10 branches with new offices in Widnes and Leigh and launched a £50,000 fundraising drive for Claire House Children’s Hospice. After introducing a new apprenticeship scheme in 2024, the company celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2025!
